Overview
This privacy policy covers the Mailattic app for macOS. Mailattic is a local-only email backup tool. It collects no personal data, sends nothing to blaumedia GmbH, and there is no user account. We operate no server for the app, so there is no system on our side that could receive, store or read your mail.
What the app stores, and where
Mailattic stores the mail it downloads on your Mac, in one archive folder that you choose: every message as a plain .eml file, plus a local index that makes the archive searchable, and the settings for the accounts you have added. All of this stays on your device (and in your own backups, for example Time Machine). Mailattic reads your mailboxes read-only and never writes to your mail server.
Where the app connects to
Mailattic only connects to services you set up yourself: the IMAP servers of your mail providers (for example Gmail, iCloud, Outlook / Microsoft 365 or your own server), and, if you choose "Sign in with Microsoft", Microsoft's login service (login.microsoftonline.com) for that sign-in. Those connections are made directly from your Mac to that provider; the data processing there is governed by the privacy policy of the respective provider. There is no connection to blaumedia GmbH.
Credentials
App passwords, app-specific passwords and Microsoft sign-in tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain, where the operating system protects them. They are used solely to connect to your mail provider and are never transmitted anywhere else.
No tracking, no analytics, no crash reporting
Mailattic contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no crash reporting, and no third-party SDKs that transmit your data. There are no advertising identifiers and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.

Your rights
Because the app transmits no personal data to us, we hold no data from your use of Mailattic that we could disclose, correct or erase. Should you nevertheless contact us, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
